Our field trips are tide and weather dependent, and are offered throughout the year. We offer a couple different programs depending on your focus and age groups:
Tidepool Exploration Program; $69 per class (class is considered up to 30 students), bus parking included
Our standard exploration program begins with an educational talk regarding the tidepools, an interpretive .75 mile (1.15 km) hike reviewing beach ecology up and over the cliffs to Little Corona, and naturalist-led exploration at our Little Corona tidepools.
Beach Activity Stations; $69 per class, bus parking included
Geared for students K-1, student rotate through a series of beach activity stations that can be customized to your group. Typical stations include 'fishing' relay races, tidepool critter sand search, and build-a-tidepool activity. Depending on the size of your group, other stations may be added focusing on beach ecology, marine debris, and other environmental and conservation topics. After the stations, students will walk over to Pirate's Cove, a smaller and more accessibly tidepool area appropriate for younger students.
